    Abstract:

In order to culture the syntrophic acetogenesis coculture in large scale and make it be used in fullscale application, the effect of carbon source, nitrogen source, temperature and pH on the activity of a new isolated syntrophic acetogenesis cocluture 7-m-2a was investigated in this study. The result of batch cultivation experiments shows that the syntrophic acetogenesis coculture 7-m-2a can utilize propionate, butyrate and benzoate as carbon source, and the most appropriate substrate is butyrate, while it almost can not degrade glucose and sucrose. The metabolic activity is the most active when using the mixture of tryptone and yeast as nitrogen source. The suitable cultivation temperature and pH are 45 ℃ and 8. 0.
