      2011, 43(6):1-5. DOI: 10.11918/j.issn.0367-6234.2011.06.001

      Abstract (2489) HTML (2) PDF 1.03 M (2047) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:To study the lateral seismic collapse fragility of RC frame structures,multi-record incremental dynamic analysis method is utilized to get the lateral seismic collapse fragility curves of a three-bay and five-storey RC frame building,in which the FEMA-rule and computational non-convergence are taken as a rule of lateral collapse of structures. The results demonstrate that the FEMA-rule is conservative to determine lateral collapse.Under the major earthquake, the structural collapse risk is limited.

Abstract:In order to survey the vibration response of permafrost subgrade induced by train traffic along Qinghai-Tibet Railway, and provide the rational theoretical foundation for the rail transit assessment, the self-programming software of the train-track coupled dynamic system was employed to investigate the characteristics of the vertical applied force on sleeper induced by passenger trains. The researches show that, the simulation results of the self-compiling program are in accord with the field monitoring data, and the theory of the procedure is proper;the train-induced vertical acting force exerted on sleeper is in inverse proportion to the subgrade damping, and increases with the raising of the subgrade modulus and vehicle velocity,at the same time increases linearly with the rise of the rail gap;the dominant frequency bands are mainly within the action rate of shifting axle load, the vibratory energy reaches the maximum at the bogie action rate, and the sleeper vibration makes little different to the sleeper vertical applied force induced by passing trains;the effects of the freeze thawing status, rail gap width, and the train speed can not be ignored on the vertical acting force. Moreover, the function relationship of the acting force maximum value versus train velocity is given quantificationally.

      Abstract (1562) HTML (4) PDF 544.70 K (1170) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:For the purpose of the degradation assessment of concrete bridges in life-cycle,a finite element-based methodology for the degradation process of concrete bridges is proposed. This is done by:(a) the computation formulas of the three critical times;and(b) the simulation methods of several special mechanics problems in the degradation process.Based on the theoretical analysis,a program named CBDAS is written in FORTRAN 95.The research on the variation of structural performance in given service life with chloride penetration is carried out by means of a reinforced concrete continuous girder bridge. The results show that: the initiation time of reinforcement corrosion is early and the corrosion rate is fast with chloride penetration. In 80 years after structure completion, bending capacities are smaller than the relative envelope moments at two critical sections for the ultimate limit state. As a result,as for the reinforced concrete bridges, the ultimate limit states are more likely to have durability defects.

      Abstract (1444) HTML (3) PDF 452.98 K (1001) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:To intensively study the responses of single piles under combined vertical and lateral loads, the common form of the coefficient of subgrade reaction was introduced. The semi-analytical solutions were obtained by dividing the pile shaft under ground into many small segments and supposing the axial force of the pile and the coefficient of subgrade reaction corresponding to each segment to be constants.Together with the pre-existing power series solutions for the pile shaft above ground, the relevant computer program was developed by Fortran programming. The calculation results indicate that the maximum lateral displacement and bending moment increase significantly with the increase of lateral loads. The vertical load can cause the instability of the pile. The soil resistance at the ground surface and the distribution of the coefficient of subgrade reaction along depth play important roles in pile responses. The computed results obtained using solutions corresponding to a special case agree well with those obtained using pre-existing solutions, meaning that the presented solutions are dependable.

      Abstract (1855) HTML (3) PDF 831.32 K (1653) Comment (0) Favorites

Abstract:Based on the crack seepage theory for simulating the water infiltration in pavement,a mathematical model for calculating infiltration rate of pavement with cracks has been established and the theoretical calculation formula of infiltration rate has been deduced. The formula can be applied to evaluate the infiltration, optimize the drainage design and improve the efficiency of drainage system.Further, the map cracks distributed in pavement are also considered and included in another mathematical model for calculating the infiltration rate in pavement with map cracks. The experimental results for the infiltration rate and flow quantity of damaged pavement show that cracks and map cracks give a great contribution to the water quantity infiltrating into the pavement. It is suggested that the design of infiltration rate should take the cracks and map cracks into consideration reasonably.By calculating and analyzing the two models established in this paper,it shows that the evaluation of infiltration rate should be conducted according to the damage degree of pavement, such as crack length, crack width, crack density and the distribution of map cracks throughout pavement.Additionally,if the thickness of surface course of pavement is determined, the thickness of permeable base not only depends on the permeability coefficient of the material of permeable base but also the strength of pavement structure.

Abstract:This study provided quantitative analyses from several aspects of signal timing related to bandwidth optimization, including: the influence of signal phasing sequence, the impact of intersection spacing, and the impact of number of signals in a system.A large number of arterial scenarios were randomly generated to simulate 90 000 traffic signal systems that likely exist in the real world. After comparing the effectiveness of four phasing sequences,it was concluded that lead-lag or lag-lead phasing sequence was used 5% more than leading or lagging. The impact of intersection spacing was analyzed by comparing uniformly and randomly spaced signal systems.Uniformly spaced signal systems did not provide better progression bandwidth than non-uniformly spaced systems. The study also found that the number of signals had a significant impact on bandwidth attainability. When the number of intersections exceeded 16,there were practically no two-way bandwidth solutions, suggesting that bandwidth based signal timing approach may not be feasible.

Abstract:To study vertical steel storage tank isolation design and analysis methods,three-stage design method is used as the optimal design of base isolated for the vertical steel storage tank.In the first stage, from rigidity theory, the wave height amplification effect caused by the base isolated is considered firstly, and the wave amplification is limited to the boundaries of isolation design to adjust the frequency. In the second stage, from elasticity theory, the base shear of isolation is analyzed, and the damping effect of the base isolated is studied. In the third stage, the square and square root results of the base shear obtained by the rigid theory and the theory of elasticity are used as a design basis. In theory, the only guarantee the effect of the two effects, but also for engineering design and analysis provides a easy to understand method of analysis. The results showed that this approach to design can not only achieve the right base shear reduction, but also be capable of controlling the amplification effect of wave height.

Abstract:To obtain more effective prediction effects, based on study of LMS algorithm, affine projection algorithm is proposed in this paper which is apply to estimating AR model parameters. The adaptive AR predicted model is built by using measured dynamic data combining with AIC criterion and the model is applied in the ship motion prediction. After comparative analysis of the simulation results, the predicted model based on Affine projection algorithm can get more precise prediction and the prediction time is more longer. The convergence rate of adaptive estimation of parameters about AR model is faster compared with LMS algorithm,LMS-Newton algorithm and NLMS algorithm. So the method provides theoretical basis for real time on-line prediction of ship motion.

Abstract:To set up inherent immune response of the adjustable fuzzy matching negative selection immune algorithm, based on fuzzy idea, the vaccine theory is used to pick up the vaccine during abnormal monitoring, and the algorithm performance influenced by vaccine operator and positive selection operator is studied. The simulation results show that the antibody storeroom memory function is increased by the vaccine operator and the second response period is shorten obviously, while the positive selection operator is the executant. The improved adjustable fuzzy matching negative selection algorithm has better self-study function,it has self-adaptation for the inherent immune response.

    • Investigation on synthesis of citric-chitosan and its solubility in water

      2011, 43(6):145-148. DOI: 10.11918/j.issn.0367-6234.2011.06.030

Abstract:To improve chitosan’s solubility in water,citric-chitosan was successfully synthesized for the first time in the mild condition with chitosan and citric acid as raw material and ethanol as reaction medium, and the process parameters were optimized: the molar ratio of citric acid to chitosan is 2∶1,the reaction temperature is 20 ℃ and the reaction time is 0.5 h.IR analysis result shows that the carboxylation reaction has occurred between citric acid and chitosan and citric acid has been successfully grafted on chitosan. In addition, the result of solubility in water shows that the citric chitosan’s solubility in water has increased a lot compared with that of the former chitosan.
