Abstract: |
Based on the basic theories of glass fiber reinforced plastic compound material(GFRP),this study investigates the corrode approaches and processing as it is being used in the marine environment.Firstly the moisture absorption of EPOXY vinyl ester matrix and GFRP is studied, and then the aged specimens’mechanical properties including tensile strength, flexural strength, impact strength and Barcol hardness are tested for recognizing the law and corruption mechanisms. The surface morphology and micro-morphology are observed by Scanning electron microscope(SEM).Test results show that the corrosion of polymer and composites materials is a relaxation process.Moisture infiltration of matrix followed Fick No2 law,and with the increasing of the salinity, the D is decreased. The mismatch behavior between fiber and matrix and the shear properties of GFRP were studied and the aging mechanism and evolution change in mechanical properties of 901 polymer and GFRP were investigated in sea water. |
