Abstract: |
The basic sulfate scandium precursor which appeared a flaky structure was synthesized using ammonium sulfate as a precipitating agent and scandium sulfate solution as mother liquor via a homogeneous precipitation approach.Thermal decomposition process of the precursor upon calcination was analyzed by DTA/TG.The properties and component of the precursor and calcined powder were investigated by IR,XRD and TEM-EDX.The results showed that the resultant Sc2O3 powder was highly pure, ultrafine (100 nm),narrow particle size distribution and spherical.Through the process of distilled water, ethanol and acetone washing in combination with ultrasound, drying at room temperature and wet milling during calcination, the dispersion of Sc2O3 powder was greatly improved. |
