Abstract: |
Different NDT methods are suitable for different scenarios. In order to enrich the existing NDT methods, this paper proposes a new method of magneto-acousto-electrical inspection for the defects in non-ferromagnetic materials. The crack defects in aluminum alloy materials were detected by COMSOL simulation software and magneto-acousto electrical experimental platform. Simulation and experimental studies were conducted on different defect sizes to validate the feasibility of this method. The simulation results show that clear magneto-acousto-electrical defect signals are obtained at the boundaries of the defects. Furthermore, the relationship between the defect width and the defect signal was verified, indicating that when the defect width L is greater than wavelength λ, the peak time t and amplitude U of the defect electrical signal are the same. On the contrary, the electrical signals generated by the left and right walls of the defect overlap. The research results demonstrate the consistency between the experimental and simulation results, indicating that the proposed magneto-acousto-electrical detection method can achieve high-precision defect detection. |
